So it is then that, as breakinbread records' funky intro breaks free with all the scratching that drives your mum crazy I wasn't expecting to be wowed by a hip-hop/funk record so soon. But, as a follow up to the hugely popular 2001 compilation of their stuff (this is all the singles and a few more released since) they've done extremely well. With the openings featuring the likes of Ghost (who's role is felt throughout) and Nostalgia and the rest of the record featuring artists as tight as the Abdominal Showmen, Yungun and Cappo they couldn't really go wrong. Yungun is particularly impressive and whets an appetite for his next record while Cappo all but closes things with Last Remaining containing all the hip-hop/funky flow you'd expect from such a talented MC. Pick this up.
